BINDUBASINI HISTORY
Before being named Bindubasini Govt Boys’ High School, Our School had another Identity which everyone does not know as well. Let’s explore from the root of our Bindubasini.
On 3rd April 1880, the assigned District Magistrate of Mymenshing “GRAHAM” Published a minor school in his name called “Graham English High School”.
In 1885, Nawab Bahadur Syed Nawab Ali Chowdhury who was known as the Landlord of Dhanbari, took all the responsibilities of the school and provide financial support to run the school. He aided with all the Operational costs of the School for 2 years.
In 1887, the Landlord of Santosh, Bindu Basini Roy Chowdhurani took the accountability of running the School.
After her death, her two Son Pramath Nath Roy Chowdhury and Sir Monmouth Nath Roy Chowdury expanded the wealth of the school, established a new building, Laboratory, and Library, and handed over School Area, Municipal Park(Pouro Uddan), Lake, New Market area and Stadium area as Bindubasini School’s Property.
The Chowdhury Family ruled out from the charge after 23 successful years and handed it over to their Trust IN 1910.
On the Recognition of Bindubasini Chowdhurani, her Son named the school Bindubasini High School.
Bindubasini High School was revealed as a Government Boys’ High school after the Liberation War. Only School in the Whole Mymenshing region spread out their Educational process on double shifts from 1991.
In 1996, Bindubasini Boys High School exposed itself in front of the whole nation by achieving the best Government School status.
BBFC HISTORY
The name of our school ‘Bindubasini’ is a brand itself. On the last one and half century (School history is added in separate column), a lots of alumni have came under this root, did their study and glorified their own success all over Bangladesh. Beside this, everyday a bunch of young generation from this school alumni, are doing lallygagging in Uddan, Eid Gah (the most common place to lallygag in the city, Tangail). But there was no collaboration between the alumni before 2016!
The alumni batch of SSC 2008 (formally Named as 08 Degree) of this school realized this situation and decided to increase the communication between the current students, the alumni and the honorable teachers. To do this, arranging a football tournament was the best suitable option! The alumni batch 2008 named it as ‘Bindubasini Football Championship, in short BBFC!
From 2016, this tournament has been arranging every year in the following three days after Eid ul Azha. Every year the organizing batch has been changing from alumni 2008 to forward batch.
This tournament has already become the most exciting program and most anticipated tournament among not only the Bindubasini Alumni but also the people of Tangail. The alumni batches from SSC 1980 to running students of this school take place in the tournament.
This tournament has also become the most important and significant opportunity of building up collaboration and friendly relation among the students, faculties and alumni of the Bindubashini Govt. Boys’ High School, Tangail. Besides that, there are some good young energetic players in the school. So, through this tournament they will get an opportunity to show their talent and try to find new potential talent who can contribute to Bangladesh football.
Now a days, the eid ul azha season in Tangail are always ready to welcome you with the colorful jerseys from different batches with different surprises, excitement and joy.
